The Pakistan Water Partnership (PWP), with assistance from Global Water Partnership (GWP), prepared Pakistan Water Vision – 2025 during 1999. DMC effectively participated in the preparation of Pakistan Water Vision and contributed a Working Paper on “Water for Nature”.

As a follow up, DMC provided consultancy services during 1999--2000 for the preparation of “Framework for Action” (FFA) for achieving objectives of Pakistan Water Vision – 2025. The assignment involved identification of core challenges / issues, articulation of objectives and development of strategies and actions in the areas of water resources development, water for agriculture, water for people, water for nature and role of gender. DMC proposed short term, medium term and long term strategies and actions required to achieve the objectives set forth in Pakistan Water Vision–2025. The FFA was prepared following consultative approach. For this purpose six consultative meetings were held with stakeholders throughout Pakistan. The stakeholders included concerned federal & provincial departments, NGOs, research organizations, universities, farmers’ representatives and gender related bodies. The Pakistan FFA prepared by DMC contributed effectively in the formulation of South Asia and Global FFAs by (GWP).
