Kurram Tangi Dam Multipurpose Project
The dam is located across river Kurram in North Waziristan Agency, about 22 Km upstream of Kurram Garhi Head Works
and 32 Km north of Bannu city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The purpose of the project is irrigation, hydropower generation, fisheries
development and socio- economic uplift of the project area.
Consultancy Services for construction supervision of the project including design review and contract management have been awarded by WAPDA to
the Joint Venture comprising MM Pakistan (Lead Firm), PES and DMC. The Consultants have commenced their services and have established Project
Office at Peshawar. The construction work of the project has however not commenced and Consultant’s work is limited to design reviews and
related activities.
The feasibility study, detailed engineering design and tender documents of the project were prepared by WAPDA in
March, 2005. The project was redesigned in 2007. The salient features of the project are as under.
