Punjab Irrigated Agriculture Investment Programme (PIAIP) – Package-6
The Punjab Irrigated Agriculture Investment Program (PIAIP), funded jointly by ADB and Govt. of Pakistan,
is planned to support physical and nonphysical investments in the water resource and irrigated agriculture sectors in Punjab, Pakistan.
The PIAIP takes a holistic and integrated approach to improving sector performance supported through institutional
reform with a focus on sustainability, decentralized management, transparency, and accountability. Consultancy for preparation of remaining
PIAP including R & U and preparation of Feasibility Studies and Detailed Design of

- Trimmu Barrage
- Panjnad Barrage
- Pakpattan Canal & Distribution System
- Thal Branch Canals & Distribution System, was awarded to a Joint Venture comprising NESPAK, DMC and AAB in June, 2009.
The completion period of the study was 48 months.
DMC provided inputs in the areas of project planning, hydraulic & structural designs of barrages, canals &
related structures, preparation of drawings, BOQs & cost estimates, environmental & resettlement impact assessment & mitigation measures
and preparation of resettlement action plan & estimation of resettlement costs
