Sehwan Barrage Complex Project
The Sehwan barrage, one of the Projects of WAPDA Vision 2025 Program, is located on river Indus in Sindh province.
The engineering studies of the project were undertaken by ZMRJ Group led Consortium. DMC were member of this Consortium. The study included
review and up-gradation of feasibility study and preparation of detailed engineering designs, tender drawings & tender documents.
The project, which comprised a barrage on river Indus, six feeder channels off-taking from the barrage, rehabilitation
of existing irrigation system, raising pond level of Manchar lake and related flood protection and drainage works, would supply adequate
irrigation water to about 2.4 million acres land of the lower Indus region falling under the commands of Rohri and Nara canals off-taking
from left bank of Sukkur barrage. The study was undertaken during the period January, 2003 to March, 2005. DMC provided inputs in the areas
of design of barrage, bridges, approach roads, canals and allied structures; geo-tech engineering, hydraulics and preparation of cost
estimates. Mr. Muhammad Munir Chaudhry, Managing Partner, DMC also provided advisory services for the project.
