Sindh On-Farm Water Management Project – Monitoring & Evaluation
The SOFWM project included improvement of 4,000 water courses, precision land leveling of 40,000 hectares,
rehabilitation of 100 minors / distributaries and rehabilitation of 25 branch canals. The primary objective of the project was to enable
farmers in the project areas to manage their water resources efficiently and effectively.
The Joint Venture comprising MM Pakistan and DMC provided consultancy services for the project which included
preparation of reform package comprising of social mobilization, capacity building, improvement of irrigation facilities, productivity
enhancement, monitoring & evaluation and project management support program by establishing autonomous Farmers Organization (FOs)
at watercourse and distributary canal level.
